Lytton’s quality mattresses are made in the Capitol Bedding factory, where each model is carefully handcrafted. This company is located next to Grand Ledge, Michigan, and has been in business since 1946. The fabric of these mattresses is manufactured by Maxime Knitting, a company based in Charlotte North Carolina. Lytton Sleep manufactures its foam in Canada while the rest of the components are made in the U.S.

First Impressions

1.      Feel & Firmness

Both mattresses offer enough firmness and support, even for heavier sleepers. No matter the model you choose, you’ll enjoy excellent stability, and minimum sinkage. However, if you prefer a firmer mattress, then the Plus mattresses are the best mattresses from Lytton. This mattress feels firmer because of its additional layer of dense foam. Moreover, it also provides excellent temperature control.

2.      Edge Support

Thanks to the approximately 970 individually wrapped quantum coils they contain, the Lytton mattresses offer robust edge support you can’t usually find in foam mattresses. The thick 8-inch quantum pocketed coil system also offers great responsiveness and excellent joint support.

3.      Motion Isolation

Lytton Sleep mattresses prevent annoying motion transfer pretty well. These hybrid mattresses feature individually wrapped coils placed between layers of foam. However, since these are not 100% foam mattresses, if you’re more sensitive, you can feel them a bit springy.

4.      Bounce

Bounce and motion isolation are meant to find the ideal balance in this mattress. The Lytton mattress offers just the right amount of bounciness you might long for if you had been sleeping on a traditional innerspring mattress before. However, if you want a mattress that has zero bounciness, you might want to look for an all-foam model.

5.      Mattress Construction

Lytton mattresses are made from a series of materials that aim to ensure comfort and durability. The main material is the Serene®️ foam, which the company presents as a special foam that’s made of millions of breathable air pockets. According to the manufacturer, this innovative foam can cool faster than traditional memory foam and last longer.

These mattresses’ coils are based on patented Quantum Edge Coil technology. They contain 90% recyclable tempered steel that boosts their durability and helps sleep cool.

The fabric of these mattresses is made of soft, breathable, moisture-resistant organic cotton. The cover is hand tufted.

Lytton mattresses feature a three-layer design. The top layer consists of gel-infused open cell foam. The next layer is made of the CertiPUR Serene foam. The following layer is the quantum coil layer, followed by a 1-inch base foam with 1.8 density. These mattresses also feature 8 sewn-in handles, which make them easy to handle.

6.      What Medical Conditions Does the Mattress Support?

Thanks to the Serene®️ foam, these mattresses provide excellent shock-absorbing capabilities and great body contouring. The air from the foam’s pockets is released independently, making the mattress fit perfectly around sleepers’ shoulders, hips, and joints. This helps align the spine correctly and reduce pressure in key points such as the back, hips, or shoulders.

Delivery, Sleep Trial, Returns

Lytton Sleep offers free shipping across the contiguous U.S. Within 72 hours of receiving your order, the company will start building your mattress. You can expect to receive the mattress within 14 days.

Lytton mattresses are covered by an Infinity Limited Warranty for the full period of their ownership (by the original owner). When you return a Lytton mattress to benefit from the warranty, you are responsible for the shipping costs. However, if the company determines that the mattress has manufacturing defects, it will replace your mattress and cover the return delivery cost.

To test the product, you get a 100-night sleep trial, with a 30-day minimum testing period, which is the norm for most mattresses-in-a-box.

Social & Environmental Impact

Lytton Sleep uses safe materials to safeguard the environment. For example, the coils are almost entirely made from recyclable steel and the choice of fabric is organic cotton. The top fabric is 81% organic.
